Can Digital Tools Impact and Accelerate Clinical Trials?
We are currently living very difficult times for clinical research, as the normal progress of many clinical studies has been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Social distancing and movement restrictions are helping to mitigate the spread of the virus, but successful strategies against this global pandemic are creating other obstacles to clinical studies to finding effective treatments for numerous diseases.
While the healthcare system is focused on developing treatments and vaccines for COVID-19, many companies and institutions will be struggling to re-start “paused” studies and to initiate those whose start was placed on-hold.
In this BHH series episode, Dr Grahaem Brown, CDDI’s Managing Director, had the opportunity to participate in an interesting discussion of the current state of clinical research, the impact of the pandemic, the role that digital tools can play and whether it will have a long term impact on how clinical trials are performed.
